There’s a recent book by historian and journalist Dave MacPherson who has uncovered much evidence that the famous “pretribulation rapture” doctrine rests on a truly anti-Jewish foundation going back to the 19th century. (This is the end times view promoted by evangelicals such as the late Jerry Falwell, Tim LaHaye, Hal Lindsey, John Hagee, Jack Van Impe, Jimmy Swaggart and many others.) Before 1830 (the year this doctrine was originated) all Christians believed that the end times “tribulation” under the Antichrist would exist primarily to purify the Christian Church. But in 1830 the new “rapture” view began teaching that the Jews would deserve the “tribulation” more than the Christians would – and so this is why Christians still teach this anti-Jewish view. MacPherson’s scholarly book revealing this long-hidden history is called THE RAPTURE PLOT, a copy of which I obtained at Armageddon Books which is online. Jews armed with this book’s bombshell documentation can use this evidence to shut the mouths of anti-Semites everywhere. His research, BTW, is highly endorsed by leading scholars (Google “Scholars Weigh My Research”). He shows that the same “rapture” view brings in millions of dollars for rightwing political agendas – and it’s a view that has turned writers like Lindsey and LaHaye into bestselling millionaires! Needless to say, the above book by MacPherson has been banned in many Christian bookstores because of the dishonesty he has discovered in evangelical circles since 1830.
